May 22 - Monmouth - Monmouth May Faire - Monmouth May Faire events on May 22nd from 9:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m., are sponsored by Friends of Cumston Library and include the sale of hundreds of flowering annuals, hanging baskets, vegetable seedlings, home-grown perennials, manure, Helen's lobster roll lunch, hotdogs and hamburgers grilled by A Rise And Shine Bed And Breakfast, Bee Keeping and Worms and Composting demonstrations, a baked sale, used books sale, Monmouth Museum birdhouses sale, raffle of a quilt donated by Old Fort Quilts, a Children's 1/4 mile run led by Baxter The Cat, a fast one-mile road race, and tours of Cumston Hall. May 23 - Portland - Maine Comic Arts Festival - The Maine Comic Arts Festival features writers, artists and publishers from the field of comics. It will be held at the Ocean Gateway facility in Portland. Event hotels include the Portland Regency Hotel.

Jun 04 thru Jun 06 - Farmington - 2010 Spring Samboree - Maine Good Sam Club Spring Samboree (RV Rally) at the Farmington Fairgrounds. Open to all. A great time with games, entertainment, and a chance to share the RV lifestyle. Many are unaware that these events in the past 6 years have raised over $21,000 for Maine charities plus what local chapters accomplish.

Jun 05 - Bethel - Family Fishing Festival - Free family fishing festival from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Angevine Park. Jun 05 - Strong - Sandy River Festival - The Annual Sandy River Festival in the town of Strong offers lots of outdoor fun. Typical events (usually starting at 8 a.m.) include log rolling, a canoe relay and inner tube race, paddling experts, fly fishing instruction, and Ranger Rick's canoe, kayak, and water safety clinics will provide family entertainment all day. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and beverages will be available. The nine-mile river voyage from the Strong to the Fairbanks bridge on Route 4 is an idyllic paddle, even for the novice. Bring a lifejacket, sunscreen, bug spray, and a change of clothes. A shuttle transporting paddlers and gear back to Strong may be available (depending on funding) and if so will leave Fairbanks at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Donations may be required. Jun 05 - Kezar Falls - Kezar Falls Lilac Festival - The 13th annual Kezar Falls Lilac Festival will be held in downtown Kezar Falls by the Ossipee River. The event will kick off with a Pancake Breakfast 7 - 9:30 a.m. at the Riverside United Methodist Church. Tickets are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children 10 and younger. Free for a child 6 and younger A Bike and Doll Carriage Parade will follow at 9:30. The Kezar Falls Fire Department and the Lilac Festival Queen will lead the parade. Helmets are required. Activities and vendors will be featured in the green spaces on both sides of the river from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., including artisans, crafters, food concessions, yard sales, informational materials from non-profits and plant sales, including lilacs. Other activities are: Walking Tour of historic village homes; Book Sale Kezar Falls Library; Open House at the History House; Magic Show free for all children; Pick-up Softball Game; Fishing Demonstration on the Ossipee River; Battle of the Bandws; Chicken BBQ at the Fire Barn from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. will conclude the Lilac Festival. Tickets may be purchased @ the door for $8.00 and $5.00 for children 10 and younger.

Old Quarry is the the venue for a World Ocean Day celebration in Maine on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy a family-oriented, festival of outdoor activities, education and fun to honor our planet's oceans at our beautiful ocean front facility. Jun 12 - Augusta - Annual Kennebec Celebration of the Spring Running - The Annual Kennebec Celebration of the Spring Running takes place rain or shine from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Old Fort Western and the East Side Boat Launch on the Augusta waterfront. The free family event is a celebration of the spring running and life in, on and along the Kennebec River that will feature live music performances hosted by the Kennebec Conservatory, demonstrations by the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association, Native American drumming by the Burnurwurbskek Singers of the Penobscot Indian Nation, the Fort to Fort Canoe and Kayak Expedition, a craft show featuring Maine artisans, and much more. Jun 12 - Damariscotta - Pirate Rendezvous - The Mystic Pirates sail into the scenic midcoast towns of Damariscotta and Newcastle and take over the in-town area until 4 p.m., when they will fade back into history. Children will be able to enjoy a variety of games at the Pirate Bazaar and other activities throughout the in-town area beginning at 10 a.m. When the pirates invade at high noon, children will be invited to participate in the defense of the town. Once the pirates have invaded and convinced all the townfolk and children to seek the riches of the lost treasure, the children will be involved in a day-long drama to find the hidden plunder that will include a Crew Muster and Pirate Costume Contest, and a Treasure Hunt that will take the children through businesses of the in-town area as they search for the Lost Treasure of the Mystic Pirates. Proceeds benefit Lincoln County Family Holiday Wishes.

Take a "Lupine by Sea" boat ride, follow a Lupine Loop driving tour, or go on private and public garden tours. There will also be free lupine seeds, lupine-themed art, craft, sculpture and quilt shows, and a variety of children's events at the Deer Isle Opera House. Jun 26 - Biddeford - His Gifts and Presence New England Arts Festival - The Ninth Annual His Gifts and Presence New England Arts Festival returns to New Life Church in Biddeford. Performances start at 3 p.m. and feature Rita Springer, Margaret Becker and visual and performing artists from around the world. The evening will culminate with a night of worship event with Rita and Margaret starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door, $12 in advance. Pay one low price for both events. Jun 26 - Saco - Saco Spirit Sidewalk Art Festival - Over 100 artists and craftsmen will line Main Street and Pepperell Square during the Saco Spirit Sidewalk Art Festival, transforming downtown Saco into a giant art gallery from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For 40 years artist have traveled from all over New England and beyond to participate in what has become for many exhibitors one of their favorite festivals of the year. The combination of historic buildings, flowers, friendly people and quaint atmosphere combine to create a perfect setting for artists to exhibit their work to thousands of visitors. This years Arts Festival offers visitors the opportunity to view a variety of artistic styles from all mediums and photography to pottery, sculpture and fine crafts.
