Fashion headlines from FocusOnStyle.com Web Feed Fashion headlines from FocusOnStyle.com 'Ain't Nothin' Like The Real Thing' when Bruce Weber melds with Bunny Yeager on film"If you don't want to be nude, wear a suit" is what Bruce Weber originally wanted to call his short film. Sometimes I feel as if I need to explain my references. I am sure there are souls who are not familiar with Bruce Weber's brillaint work. Presently, he is the the most commercially known for his Abercrombie & Fitch photographs. Back in the day, it was for his Calvin Klein Underwear ads. If you were a male model in the 80's and had a portrait by Bruce Weber in your portfolio, you instantly skyrocketed to having a certain covetable cache that made you the envy of all the other boys on the set. A modern, uneffected sensuality remains in his photographs which is impossible to duplicate, although many photographers have tried. A couple of decades earlier, Bunny Yeager was first a model and then known for her glamour photographs. Her most iconic model is Bettie Page. Both photographers share a certain naturalness in their work. Specifically their nudes. Opening Ceremony Menswear -

Michelle Obama is very smart indeed when it comes to her fashion choices. On the anniversary of the Obama’s first year in the White House and the day after the Republican gain for Teddy Kennedy’s Senate seat, Mrs. Obama chose exactly the outfit to make the right statement: A matching coat and sheath dress. If I were the First Lady’s fashion advisor, I couldn’t come up with a better ensemble for today’s photo op. If it was Mrs. Obama’s choice, she continues to have marvelous fashion instincts. ... about the stars, the effort, the fuss & the circumstance that all that razzle-dazzle creates. Then, get the look for less!
Honestly, I’m not personally a fan of evening gowns. >> See all the stars in 2010 Golden Globes Red Carpet Fashion Photo Gallery Glamorous gowns are the fantasy. Unless you are heavily involved in black-tie charity benefits, have a lots of friends or relatives getting married, or find yourself a mom on the Bar Mitzvah circuit, gowns are not really the most relevant article in your wardrobe. Let alone having the closet with a rack high enough to hang up those gowns—it becomes quite the ordeal. As a stylist, I could get lost in the glamorous fantasy of to-die-for gowns and drop-dead jewels, my portfolio certainly had plenty of magazine covers to show that-- it was fashion escapism rather than a fashionable reality. I much prefer the latter. However, every once in a while, we need to don an evening gown. Or take a moment away from our lives to fantasize about the stars, and the effort, and the fuss and the circumstance that all that razzle-dazzle creates. | |
