Christianity in Lord of the Rings: Would Easter fly on Middle Earth? -

Without a single chapel on Middle Earth, one might assume that religion has no place in The Lord of the Rings. 

Cinema and dancing will combine in “Evening of Dance” performed by the Young DanceMakers Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

BYU Center for Animation film DreamGiver won an animation "student Emmy" over the weekend, bringing BYU's animation winning total to 11 Emmys in eight years. DreamGiver tells a story that seamlessly incorporates computer animation and traditional animation.

Not everyone may like green eggs and ham, but “Seussical” will offer something for everybody when the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant and the grizzly Grinch come to campus for a series of musical performances Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14, at 7 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall.

Brigham Young University's nine-man a cappella singing group, Vocal Point, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2011.

On Thursday, April 7, the Harold B. Lee Library celebrated its one millionth patron visit for the year 2011. Geisler, a mechanical engineering major, entered the library just before 11 a.m. and by their count became the one millionth patron to enter the building since Jan. 1, 2011.

The Museum of Art will extend its operating hours during the last two weeks of “Carl Bloch: The Master’s Hand” to help accommodate the high demand for tickets as the exhibition nears its closing date.

The annual Unforum, a celebration of the past year and the BYU legacy, will take place Tuesday, April 12, at 11:05 a.m. at the Marriott Center.
